I am a Business and Technology Teacher in Michigan. I am looking to discuss different things within education. I love to hear new ideas with technology and education. Anything to keep my classroom interesting.
I also have a 20 month old son and any fun ideas or discussions about raising a little boy, I would love to discuss.
I am starting this blog due to a masters class I am taking but I am very excited to be doing this. I think communication is huge within success of a teacher and mom. If you can't bounce ideas off someone else then you confind within your own classroom or household and sometimes that doesn't always work.

So what's it like teaching technology classes to today's students? It seems like it would definitely be a challenge with all the young, great minds out there. I have a ten year old that is just finding out about the communication resources that the web offers. He's more into the hardware, but is quickly getting interested with anything that he can get his hands on. He'll probably be teaching me things in the future. What do you think?
Honestly teaching students in technology is a challenge but it is fun. I can honestly say I have students that know more about technology than I do. That is what is so fun about it. They will actually teach me things and some of them will actually show the other students. It really is fun!! I guess the biggest challenge I have is cell phones. The students can text message with their phones being in their pockets and I will never know or if I do notice I really don't know if I want to ask what are you doing in there. I also have to watch the students very carefully when it comes to technology. I have to make sure they aren't doing anything that they aren't suppose to. Students know how to get around blocks and such so easily.
I do have a lot of parents that tell me that they don't have a clue as to what their child is doing on the computer or video games. I will tell you that the students will want to show you about their technology if you show interest. The more they show you and open up the better. Also always have the computer set up in a room that everyone can see.
Those are just some ideas.
