Mother of a Terrible Two
I am a mom of a adorable and sweet little boy. He is 20 months old and has hit his terrible two early. He is starting this throwing of anything when he gets upset, mad, or whatever. I have taken things away, time out and such but nothing seems to be even slowing it down. Does anyone have any different ideas or activities that would help me in getting him to stop throwing things? Just looking for ideas. Thanks

I completely understand how you feel! My son, who is 22 months old, happens to do the exact same thing! Whenever he gets mad, he ends up throwing whatever he has onto the floor and then falling to the floor screaming "NO, NO, NO"! Whenever he gets to the point of being so obnoxious (sad to say that happens), I end up putting him in his crib for a while until he calms down. Does it work? Well, not all of the time. He usually ends up yelling, throwing everything in his crib onto the floor, and screams the majority of the time. Once I give him about 5 minutes of "alone" time, then he is ready to come out and calm down, play, or even sleep. Not sure if this would work with your son, but just a thought. It will be nice sharing stories back and forth won't it??? Can't wait to talk with you more about this!
The bad thing is he isn't in a crib anymore. He is in a toddler bed. So I have tried to put him in that but he just gets out of it. He is a little stinker.
